Business software... what is it?

When we talk about business software, we're talking about the system, or combination of systems, that your people use to track, automate and account for the delivery of your product or service to your clients!

Obviously this is an overly simplified definition, but whatever it is that you do, there needs to be a way to handle all of the information that flows in and out of your business, and where possible maximise the efficiency, and profitability of this information flow.

Why build custom software?

Many 'mainstream' businesses (and indeed, entire industries) have a host of 'off-the-shelf' software available to them. Some industries have so much software thrown at them, that actually choosing the right one is quite a task.

Well... if you're not one of those businesses, or you're simply not convinced that a generic boxed product is going to match your business needs as closely as you'd like, perhaps you need to develop something yourself!

Sounds scarey, and expensive!
